Stormwater Services
Effective Environmental understands and
specializes in many types of stormwater systems. E2
can handle everything from the stormwater survey and
assessment plan to the actual design and construction of the
system.
• Flow
Control Solutions
E2 has several products and services that help
control storm water flow on your site, including bypassing,
flow regulation, and outlet control.
• Volumetric Separation
Based on capturing and detaining stormwater in order to
separate out solids and improve water quality, this system
is designed to capture and hold the majority of the site’s
runoff volume. It does this by removing pollutants through
gravitational forces.
• Hydrodynamic Separation
A reliable, easy to install system that offers a high
performance, proven stormwater pollutant removal. This
system removes sediment, floatable, free oil and grease and
is widely accepted for effective solids removal. Occupying
only a small foot print for treated flow rate, it delivers
treatment with minimal headloss.
• Stormwater Retention Systems
On sites where soils drain well and the water table is low
enough, a stormwater infiltration, or recharge, system
maybe
the most economical means for managing runoff. Unlike
detention systems, which typically discharge runoff from a
single outlet pipe, infiltration systems allow accumulated
runoff water to percolate into the subsoil.
• Stormwater Detention Systems
Underground stormwater detention systems work as an integral
part of the storm sewer system to provide a temporary
storage area for excess stormwater. Runoff is stored and
discharged over time whenever runoff inflow exceeds the
allowable discharge rate. These systems are typically
installed beneath parking lots, streets, and parks to
maximize property usage and lower development cost.
• Stormwater Screening Solutions
Screening solutions benefit high flow rate operations. They
protect downstream waterways by removing trash and debris
larger than 2400 microns and some suspended solids from
stormwater runoff. Screening removes naturally buoyant trash
and debris, captures hydrocarbons and some settleable
solids, provides a small foot print for treated flow rate
and delivers treatment with minimal headloss.
• Oil / Water Separation
Oil gets into the environment in a variety of forms –
emulsified, free, attached to solids or soluble. When oil is
transported in stormwater, we create systems to capture
those pollutants and keep them from entering our waterways.
Our oil/ water separation systems offer comprehensive risk
management, meet secondary containment requirements, serve
as effective NPDES stormwater Best Management Practice (BMP)
and provides oil Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure
(SPCC) technology.
• Stormwater Filtration
The filtration system meets the most stringent regulatory
requirements for stormwater treatment. Using sustainable
media, our filtration systems remove the most challenging
pollutants – including Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Soluble
Heavy Metals, Oil and Grease, and Total Nutrients.
Containment Systems
Spill
Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC)
E2 conducts an onsite assessment
of products used and potential pathways of exposure to the
environment. After a comprehensive review, a plan outlining
areas of improvement or operational change will be submitted
to the client. Once the problems are corrected, a formal
plan for compliance will be placed in the company’s
environmental procedures manual.
Consolidation, Containment and Capping
- Excavation
and removal is increasingly associated with on-site waste
consolidation whereby the
waste is ultimately contained
within an engineered cap system. Excluding “conventional”
landfill closure caps, this method
performs as a long-term
but interim measure for select applications.
Groundwater Collection Systems (a.k.a. Interceptor Trenches)
- Excavation and removal often facilitates
construction of groundwater collection systems and other
related, in-situ remediation applications.
